Two international wild life reservoirs, 500,000 hectares of protected land, 400 bird species, over 2000 varieties of plants, 300 falls of water and 100 species of mamals make Misiones a favorite destination for wildlife lovers. Known for its massive Iguazu Falls, Misiones offers actually a miriad of tourist attractions.

The eastern part of the state encompasses a vast area devoted to the production of Yerba Mate, a regional infusion that is rapidly becoming a favorite tea replacement around the world. To the south, vistors can explore the macrosystem of Ibera (Esteros del Ibera) with its splendid mirror-like lakes and unaltered nature. And between them, there is the historical route of the ancient Jesuits that colonized the region from Corrientes to the border with Brazil. Most of these settlements have been preserved as ruins that hold enormous historical value. And then, there are the Iguazu Falls, located in the northwestern part of the State bordering with Brazil.
