A search on Monedero failed to return any discussions, so am starting this one - somewhat related to the hard to get coins , the main reason for coins was using them in colectivos. But the hope is that one day soon in Buenos Aires the colectivos will start accepting the RFID cash cards like the Monedero. From the main Monedero site, with my limited spanish, I believe it says that the Monedero card can be obtained for free, and charged with any amount of money, from AR$1 to AR$300. And it is currently accepted at all Subte stations, many Open 25 hours shops, The Coffee Store, and a few other stores. And, looks like the colectives in at least one other province in AR - Neuquén - accepts these cards too. Maybe some hope for the Bs As colectives - though not sure if such advancements move fast, or move at all, through the government in Bs As...! |
