Welcome, Eva! Resistencia is about 630 km from Iguazu. To get to Iguazu I would check this local bus company while in Resistencia: Aguila Dorada, or look for the offices of "Rio Uruguay". Both companies go back and forth. You can research "Hotel Cataratas", very nice and not too expensive. A one way ticket Iguazu / Buenos Aires usd $125 approximately per person. I would not know about the border... For american citizens, it is required a visa. Without it, you may be asking for trouble. Bear in mind the Bush administration has made some comments about the tri-border area just last week. |

Thanks for the info. Its been so hard trying to organize something. Do you think we would be able to rent a bus or is there a train at all? are plane tickets expensive from resistencia to iguazu? i just dont know the best way of getting there. if not, maybe we can rent a ranch or somethng with a pool that is near by resistencia, or relatively near. something beautiful with a pool. what do you think? |

Buses are very convenient, inexpensive and have many schedules. You might be able to do this overnight on a sleeping coach. About renting anything close to Resistencia only a real estate agent can help you, and I am afraid I don't know of anyone up there. As for trains, I doubt it. You can conceivably rent a van/bus and drive to Iguazu through RN 16/ RN 12... I'll find out about flying to Iguazu in a bit, but all flights will connect through Buenos Aires so I still think busing it is the way to go. |

Eva, flying is a problem. Most days of the week, the air route Resistencia-Iguazu requires spending a night in Buenos Aires due to the differences in schedules...Flights from Resistencia arrive in Buenos Aires at around 14:45, and depending on which day there will not be any flights from BA to Iguazu available. To really know if this is possible you must have a precise date of departure... |
