please help if you can.... (i apologise for posting this twice but I'm really getting desperate) I will be travelling to Argentina in a months' time to a wedding in Esquel. I have already booked a flight there from Gatwick, London and I will be arriving in BA on Feb 11 (for a fortnight). I'm dying to go down to El Calafate to see the glaciers but I need to be in Esquel by Feb 16 - the wedding is on the 17th. I know there are flights from BA to El Calafate on the 13th but I am having huge problems trying to find a way from El Calafate to Esquel. Someone mentioned that I should be able to catch a flight to Comodoro Rivadavia and then on from there to Esquel... A huge group of us will then go on to Trelew/Gaiman etc after the wedding so I really need to get to El Calafate before then. Do you have any suggestions? I'd really prefer to fly as I am quite pushed for time. Thank you for any help at all... angharad angharad | ||

As far as I know the only way to get back to Esquel from Calafate would be via Buenos Aires or Trelew but flights have different arriving/departing schedules so you may need to spend one night in either destination. In addition, there are only flights to Esquel from BA on Mondays and Wednesdays making the whole itinerary more complex. Calafate - Bue > departs 10:46 / arriv 13:42 Bue - Esquel > departs 11:30 / ... One alternative would be to fly: Calafate - Bariloche $ 175 one way and then take a bus to Esquel (about 400 km) but you still need to find out which company does this route and what are the schedules. Try looking at aerolineas argentinas website or contact Erna at erna@travelsur.net. Any travel agent should be able to help you. A reminder: flights are tight. |
