Jerry,

I think mid December will be a little late for whales.

All of our properties are booked for New Year's around Bariloche, maybe try www.interpatagonia.com or www.apartmentsbariloche.com

Suerte!

Looks like Roberto is not around and this butthead is taking advantage of the situation. Which shows too that he is very short minded, since this will against him, no one in here will ever visit his page. One thing is 1 post offering something good and let people chose. But bombarding with 30+ emails in a few hours, will cause the complete adverse result. Silly man...

ANY BETTER ANSWERS !!! Roberto, please your help is welcome!!! I ve read the whales seem to stay longer & longer every year ??? depending on the climate????

I'm concerned about hotels as well & transport It s peak time and we ve not booked anything yet!!!
domestic flights are too expensive through internet , for buses It should be ok & we might book the navimag cruise from puerto natales to puerto montt ..............

Jerry, whales tend to stay until the end of December. You may have a chance to see them but there is always some risk as Living_in_Patagonia suggested. I do not know if they have recently been overstaying due to changing climate conditions. In general, I think 12/15 should be ok. I hear tourism has dimished substantially for all destinations in Argentina, therefore you may still have time to do all your booking for end of year. But I recommend that you work closely with a travel agent. You can post specifics here at the forum or email me using the contact form and I will email you back some guidelines (prices, hotels, tours, etc).

thank you very much for your precious help, Roberto.
we 'll start our journey ( 1 month)by the iguazu falls ( by plane)then back to BA, peninsula valdes by bus , try to find a flight from trelew to ushuaia . bus to puerto natales /torres del paine/ el calafate where we will be for xmas, then a cruise to puerto montt . barriloche & lakes for new year. last days in salta (flight).
If you have any suggestion for lodging( even if It s not too busy I suppose It's still better to reserve for xmas no?
do you know If buses run on xmas day?
last question , pl .what should be the average price for a flight . Many thanks to you
