Hey gang - hope everyone is good! I am flying home for x-mas (yey!) from BA, to London via New York, and I am bringing my porteņa girlfriend with me. Anyone have any ideas about what she will need to get into London, and if she needs anything for the 3 hour wait we have at JFK airport in NY? Thanks Adam |

Hey guys...Adam, I believe it depends on how long your layover in New York will be...anything more than a couple of hours requires a visa due to the cacellation of the TWOV (travelling without visa) program a few years ago...cheque with the US Government website to find out for sure. |

Heathrow has a control area for connecting flights just as JFK has ... strictly for connecting with entering their country.. Your thoughs should be with immigration law in Enland for her.. |

Call the airline, they will know exactly what their proceedure is for layovers and what the US requires. It is their job to know that before they schedule the flight. |

This is great info, thanks. On the UK Immigrations point - surely there are foreign people visiting the UK on holiday all the time! What do they do for a 2 week holiday? Get a Visa? I'll try the AirLine, it's a good starting point. Thanks again - please keep sending any further thoughts! |

Yeah, good luck. My friend Adam and his Brazilian girlfriend were suppose to go to London through NY and she got turned down for her visa a few weeks before they were suppose to leave. She ended up having to take a different flight and had to pay the huge fees to move the ticket around. |
