Roberto, I plan a trip to BA for late August and early September for 8 days including a trip to Iguazu and Montevideo. How do I go about (and do you recommend) hiring an English speaking guide for a couple of days? |

Hello Walt and welcome! I moved your thread here as a standalone. Is your request for a full time guide that will travel with you to all destinations and be your guide 7/24 or you just want someone that can assist you while in Buenos Aires? If the former, I am afraid we can't help. We have been asked in the past about this, namely asian visitors who have a hard time with local habits and language. We have always responded with reservations. A full time guide implies a lot of responsibility and places somewhat of a burden on agents, due to the following up. At present, we can't comfortably recommend anyone for such task neither we know of such service. I will make a few phone calls later today and if I find any information I will post it here. |

Thanks Roberto, I am looking for a guide for a day, perhaps two while in BA. It would be nice to have a guide who is interested in walking around the city for a day or two. FYI - I am in Boston, Massachusetts. Regards, Walt |

Walt, we might be able to help with this but no guarantees. Please email Erna at the Buenos Aires office at erna@travelsur.net. She will make a couple of phone calls today to some english-speaking guides that we know. Erna will need to know the exact dates you will be in Buenos Aires or the days you wish to have a guide. Do you have an itinerary in place already? |
