Hello, Two websites for two of the better bus companies in Argentina. www.andesmar.com www.viabariloche.com.ar You can search for routes, and ticket prices. Someone asked on another thread about BA to Mendoza on a bus. Andesmar has this route for the following prices (in pesos) 1st class round trip: 310.00 coche cama: 270.00 semi-cama: 220.00 Beverly |

Here is some info I managed to rummage for any one else interested, for travel by bus from Santiago Chile to Mendoza round trip. Company is Andesmar (Argentinian.. reputable) Schedule from Santiago Chile to Mendoza: Daily 8.30 am, 10.00 am, 11.30 pm (The operator gave me these times as Argentinian times) Schedule from Mendoza to Santiago Chile : Daily 9 am, 12.30 pm, 10.45 pm. Price one way (40 pesos Argeninian or 8000 pesos Chilean) Phone Numbers: Mendoza : (+54261) 4054300 Santiago : (+562) 7796839 I am afraid, you have to buy the tickets there and then. No online or phone reservations. Riyad |

Try this one. It will give you a general idea. Schedules vary depending on the company. This is departing from BA and it looks like this bus company as 3 buses a day. |

Hello Roberto, According your mail date Oktober 14, I try, but cannot contact the argentina telephone nrs. from The Netherlands and speaking in Spanisch is too difficult for me. The e-mail to Flecha-bus has failed. So, can you try to find out if the bus Salta - San Pedro (Chili) goes on Friday Oktober 27. The busterminal in Salta is of GEMINI-bus. Maybe you sent me by e-mail the results ?? |

Hans, I just talked to the bus terminal in Salta. Just in case, these are their numbers... Estacion Terminal, Salta 54(387)401-1143 They informed me that for the destination San Pedro de Atacama (in Chile) departures are ONLY on Tuesdays/Thursdays/Sundays at 7 AM. October 27th is a Friday so NO departures. You should either leave on Oct 26th or Oct 29th. There are 2 companies that do this: 1. Geminis 54(387) 431-7778 2. Pullman Bus 54(387) 421-0606 When you call, 54 is Argentina 387 is Salta Before this, you should dial the proper long distance prefix from your country. Some employees may understand a little bit of english. I am calling from Miami, so this is as much as I can do for you. |

Hello! My husband and I are planning a trip to Argentina for June of next year...so far away and we are so excited. We are wanting to spend time in Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, and Cordova while we are there (appr. 10 days) Originally we had planned on taking a bus from B.A. to I.F. maybe stopping at a city or two for a day along the way. Then we were going to fly from I.F. back to B.A. and take a bus to Cordoba. My questions are: 1- would it be possible to find a direct flight from I.F to Cordoba? The only flight I found was on Aerolineas Argentinas and it was for $200 with a 4 hour layover in B.A. 2- If bus is the best way to get to B.A. to Cordoba, what bus line should we use. 3- Can you refer any websites that have bus schedules and routes and prices?? Thanks for all your help!! |

David, you can search the bus terminal website for those destinations. It will point you to the companies that operare these legs with their schedules departing from Buenos Aires. Then, you should contact each of them: http://www.tebasa.com.ar/ You can definitely find info on Calafate. I doubt Puerto Natales but the companies doing Calafate may now... I don't think a page exists with all the information for all bus destinations/companies. |

ATC and David, both welcome! The information for the buses can be found here. It's a little tricky but if you type your destination you will eventually get to the page with companies and schedules. Then, you will have to contact them individually for pricing. Or try to locate their websites on the internet but this is more problematic. http://www.tebasa.com.ar/ This is the official website for Bus Terminal in Retiro. Oh, yes, you have to connect through BA when flying Iguazu/Cordoba |

Ken, it worked for me (from Miami). Anyone else tried to click on that link? That site is informational only. You won't be able to purchase tickets through them. The site can guide you as to which company goes where and provide you with schedules and contact information. Then, you must try to find each company's website and try to purchase directly. This can't be done with all of them, in which case you may require a local agent to assist you. Let us know. |

Should I just walk down to Retiro and wander around until I find a company that goes to Córdoba? |

There are only few useful websites about bus travel available. As already mentioned: Teba S.A. is the corporation which operates the Retiro terminal http://www.tebasa.com.ar/ Some big bus companies offer timetables, pricing information and online-booking by credit card through their webpages http://www.andesmar.com/shop/default.asp http://www.viabariloche.com.ar/ For many smaller bus companies, you can buy your ticket online via a marketing system called Plataforma10, which also offers company profiles in a standardized form: http://www.plataforma10.com/ I think in most cases you can buy your tickets on the phone with your credit card. When you arrive clueless at Retiro, go to the information point of the CNRT and tell them your destination, they will give you a list of suitable companies. If you know of any other useful websites or bus companies with online-booking, please post me a message - I am collecting this sort of info. Thanks! |

Paul, welcome. I would suggest to email them. They definitely travel such route. Check this page for contact information for the Mendoza terminal. It appears you can also talk to them online, although not on Sundays. |

There a number of bus companies that make this run. TurBus is another popular option - website is www.turbus.cl although I don't see Mendoza on their itin builder - but they do travel it. There are also a few companies that use the 1/2 sized busses which have are more agile and make the run a little faster. I don't have the info for Viña de mar bus station but that is your best bet to call the Viña del mar bus station. Here is the info for Mendoza bus station - you could call them too- their info desk is very helpful: Mendoza Bus Station: Tel: 0261-431-5000 From outside Argentina: +54-261-431-5000 Terminal del sol. Terminal de Ómnibus : - Gob. Videla y Acceso Este (5519) Guaymallén. T. 54-0261-4315000. |
