Can someone give me some info on Cordoba, such as weather in the Winter-I assume the summers are hot. What about general security as compared to BA? I intend to either rent a house or a room in a shared house. What are the opportunities for that in Cordoba or nearby communities?

Hello Robert, a kind forum member emailed us the following link for weather information:

http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/87344. html?bannertypeclick=bigwx

You can also check here historical weather for Cordoba. Very likely, the crime rate is much lower.

Florencia, it will be great if you can share the information you have with all of us, here...

Roberto, thank you for that historical portait of Cordoba's weather. It's fantastic! Why doesn't everyone want to live there?
I can't find any negative information on Cordova. It's all wonderful. Is it really that nice?

Yes.

Many portenios love it. It's a favorite destination on vacation time... Carlos Paz, Villa gral. Belgrano, Alta Gracia, etc. Cordoba is also very appealing because it has direct ties to many of our roots, music, food. I don't have the answer why not many more people choose Cordoba, but must be the same reason why people do not move in droves to Mendoza or Bariloche... Buenos Aires (the city) is just a giant sucking energy field.

Kumbrecita?

You may have to misspell it as I did. Those first 3 letters are under the banned word list, I am afraid... Need to protect the readers here.

Thank you, Florencia. Never made it there. Roads weren't that good at the time and our car broke. But I was told it is a beautiful place.

Something that may be of interest to Robert... what I heard on that trip was that locals at La Kumbrecita didn't really like outsiders and had destroyed the only way to get there. Among the reasons -rumors have it- a particular group of german people settled there and favored isolation. This is not really news as most of us have heard how Peron favored the entrance of German immigrants right after WWII. But could just be that... rumors.

From Florencia's site it looks like a little piece of paradise.

Ruggero, I believe you mean...ich weiss-I know-the Swiss spelling, anyway. "Weib" is not a particlarly flattering and somewhat dated term for a women. However, it does come from the same root as the English "wife" and sounds very much like it, as German has no finale voiced stops, the final b is pronounced as our English p-unvoiced stop.
