Hello We are planning a moto trip for Jan 07. At the present we plan to start out in Buenos Aires and travel to Mar de la Plata---Bahia Blanca(visit friends)---down to Pureto Madyrn--then work our way over to Bariloche---on to Mendoza---return to Buenos Aires. My questions are--- 1) How many Km. will this trip be 2) Is it resonable to attempt to do in 14days 3) How much non paved roads will there be between Bariloche and Mendoza 4) As we will be unsure of our exact schedule will hotels rooms be hard to get without advance reservations. Hello Stuart, Bs As - Mar del Plata: 392 km Mar del Plata - Bs As: 392 km Bs As - Bahia Blanca: 560 km Bahia Blanca - Pto Madryn: 506 km Pto Madryn - Bariloche: 546 km Bariloche - Mendoza: 944 km Mendoza - Bs As: 955 km Trip is approx 4300 km. Fourteen days... I don't think so. Highways should be ok. Your main concern should be motorists. They speed and drive less carefully than in places like the US. You will reach destinations exhausted just because of the added stress. Should try to get advanced reservations. These are some hot destinations. Or carry tents for camping. In any case, such trip should be looked at as a high-risk venture: too many destinations, not too much time, done by motorcycle and without reservations. My humble view. |
