Any recommendations for a light one day hike in either Salta and/or Iguazu or any place nearby. We will rent a car and would prefer, if possible, to do some light trekking without a guide. Any ideas ? Guidebooks ? P.S. I'm not posting this in the hiking forum as this one has much more activity. | ||

In Salta I would consider going to San Lorenzo for a nice trekking. Another option with your rented car would be to go to Cachi, but this is much further away from Salta. Have fun! Jan | ||

We are going to rent a car anyway, so both options are good. Can you recommend a certain route ? Is there a guidebook ? Can we do it by ourselves or is it absolutely necessary to hire a local guide ? Thanks |
