Hello! Some friends and I are planning a ski trip to Las Lenas the second week in July. This is the beginning of high season and so prices to stay at the Las Lenas resort are out of our budget. However, I have found information about Los Molles Hotel, which is only a short distance outside of Las Lenas. My question is what is the best way to travel to Los Molles from Buenos Aires? Buses directly to Los Molles don't seem to exist. Does anyone have any information or advise regarding a bus route? Also, I'm wondering if our tentative itinerary (Las Lenas>Mendoza>Cordoba>Salta and then back to BA) is the most efficient and feasible way to see all of these places. We have about 2 weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!! Sophie |

There are for sure buses doing Mendoza - Los Molles every day. Do BA - Mendoza first and then check at the bus terminal who goes to Los Molles. You can do Mendoza > Cordoba > Salta > BA in 2 weeks fine, but do you plan to travel only by bus? |

Thanks Roberto! Yes, unfortunately our budgets allow for only buses. The buses that travel overnight don't bother us though. However our plans have changed a little bit. Skiing has proved to be too expensive and so we are looking at other places to spend that time. San Rafeal, San Luis, and surrounding areas sound interesting, but I can't find much information on them. Are they worth seeing? We also discussed going from Mendoza into Santiago for a short time. We've heard mixed reviews regarding Santiago. Would that be a good choice in your opinion? Thanks so much for your help!!! |

Crossing the Andes during winter is TOTALLY worth it, even if Santiago is a lackluster experience. Do it! San Rafael is a really good place for outdoors so its attractiveness diminishes a little during winter. San Luis... not sure. Give it a try. If skiing is out of the picture you may want to consider other areas with great natural habitats like Peninsula Valdes in Chubut. |
