Hello I’m new here and like to thank you for this forum. I will be staying in Bariloche for one month, 30th of June to July 24th. The plan is to take a trip for 2 weeks in Argentina and end in Mendoza before I go to Santiago, Chile. This is how I see my trip, Bariloche -> Santa Rosa -> Córdoba -> Salta -> Mendoza. Would you recommend some other route? I like all kinds of outdoor activities, culture and history. Is the road from Mendoza to Santiago open all year long? Or does the road close because of the snow? Regards Aegir |

Aegir, welcome! That route is doable, but the question is how? Are you planning on driving all the way to Salta from Bariloche? Then, I would say most of those 2 weeks will be spent inside a car. Roads are open all year round, however the crossings may not. Once in Mendoza you should check the status of the border crossing daily as bad weather may be a problem. Frontdesk should tell you how to do this. Or any local travel agent. |

Doable but not wise to spend 2 weeks in car. When you come from a small island distances are not a problem, so I guess I have to plan this better. Thanks Roberto Regards Aegir |
