Hi, we intend travelling in Argentina in Nov/Dec '07.We fly into B.A. will stay for a couple of days and then our tentative itinerary is to see Iguazu,Mendoza, Bariloche and Ushuaia with a side trip to Valparaiso in Chile, all by bus.We want to do the travelling in 2 and a half weeks and then spend a week in B.A. before going home. Is this too much or do you think that the travelling part is feasible. We were in Argentina for two weeks in April'05 but because we had such a good time in B.A. we never got to see anywhere else. Thanks, David |

Hi David, I think 2 1/2 weeks for Iguazu, Mendoza, Bariloche and Ushuaia is plenty of time. Unless you find yourself having a great time in any of the places and change your scheduling again Iguazu takes no more than 3 days, typically. You can devote 5 days to Bariloche and 3 to both Mendoza and Ushuaia and you will still have a few more days to play with. You can take buses to Iguazu and Mendoza overnight. However, the Ushuaia part is the most difficult one and will require a flight from Bariloche. The side trip to Chile can be done from Mendoza as it will be the closest point to Santiago and then to Valparaiso. Taking this side trip is the only thing that may put some pressure on your schedule and if included it should be carefully planned. |

Thanks Roberto, we will have a think about it, Ushuaia did look too far by bus but no harm in asking. |

David, the problem with Ushuaia -distance aside- is that you need to cross the Strait of Magellan. It can be done by ferry/car but you will land on the chilean side. Easier to take a flight. Tierra del fuego is an island! |
