can anyone advise on the likelihood of this route being closed in the last week of August ? Iam spending a number of weeks in Buenos Aires and have 14 days to travel at the end of this stay, while making my way to Santiago for my flight home. My plan is to go to Salta for 4/5 days and then on to Mendoza before crossing into Santiago but am concened the border crossing wil be closed and flights seem very expensive any advice appreciated |

Hi John, there is a 50% chance it could be closed for a few days any given point between May and September - so factor this in - One of the better services I have experienced is TUR BUS - good luck! |

thanks for that i really cant miss my flight out of santiago as i am flying onwards to australia and need to enter by the 10th september. do you think it may be better to switch my route and go from BA to Mendoza then to salta taking a more northern border crossing into Chile and making my way to santiago that way or else take my chances in mendoza and if it comes to it book a flight to santiago ? Thanks |

Hello John, Don't know your budget, but why don't you fly from Mendoza to Santiago to be sure you will make your flight to Australia? Have fun! Jan |
