My parents are both from Argentina and are dual citizens (US and Argentina). I was born in the US and am looking into working in Argentina for a few years. Do you know if it is possible/easy for me to also acquire dual citizenship? How would I go about this? Any information would be helpful. Thanks. | ||

Susan, yes, it's possible. You should contact the nearest argentine consulate in your area and they will explain to you how to go about documentation and procedures. In fact, in your case it is imperative that you contact them as there are some particular regulations of children born abroad from argentine parents. Some of these laws were issued because of the large number of foreign babies born to argentines in exile during the military years. Ask for "Reconocimiento Directo de Nacionalidad" although this may not apply to you. Also check this 2004 law about citizenship of foreigners born to argentine parents |
