anyone ride? my husbands really into it. i used to ride (trail horses) but i fell and got cut real bad on my chin, and after ive been scared of horses although i do plan on getting back on. ive been on horses after the fall but my nerves got the best of me, so as of now i just feed and groom them. sometimes ill ride while my husband holding the reigns but never alone. lol. my husband likes to go on trips to outposts around the mountains and have bbq's with his friends. hes got some awesome pics. but since its winter he hasnt gone on any trips lately. and in the future hed like to go out on longer trips and hunt as well. | ||

Lara, I have ridden horses all of my life and one of the things I miss most since moving from Wisconsin to Mendoza has been my horses. I did bring 3 of my dogs, but had to sell the horses. Have only had a chance to ride once since moving here in December. Thomas | ||

thomas we also brought our 2 dogs with us when we moved here. the bigger one was apain in the butt when it came to getting the paperwork done and finding an airline that would fly his fat ass! lol youve only riden once? how come no time? dont know where to go? i only know of 1 place where you can rent horses but they are a bit pricey. 25 per hour. but its a nice place and the guy who manages it is also a nice guy. right now we only ahve 1 ridable horse, the other one is still being trained but should be done ina month. if you are interested you are more then welcome to come see our horse and maybe go for a ride  | ||

Lara, The trip for my dogs went fine even though it was a 30 hour trip for them in their crates. It was me that had the difficulties worrying about them and trying to overcome the issues for them in the US. (Transfering from one airline to another that did not have agreements between them on pet transfer) I would love to visit and see your horses as well as meet you and your husband. Thomas | ||

when i came here in august i only brought my little jack Russell with me and we had no problems at all, we also had to switch planes but since i was pregnant at the time, the airlines took care of everything for me so it was awesome. i couldn't take my other dog because he was way over the weight limit. so my husband had to take him when he came in January. but he had to fly out of ny because he had to fly with aerolineas argentina since they were the only airlines that would fly him with in a reasonable price. air canada wanted 5000 dollars YEAH RIGHT!!! with aerolineas we only had to pay 145 a big difference!!!!! but the problem was when he arrived in BA because he had to go to a different airport to catch his flight to mendoza. so he ahd to lug his 2 suitcases and a big cage, and his cage didnt have wheels so he had to hire someone to help him carry teh cage. our dog weighs an easy 55 kilos LOL. i dont know if youve seen my other reply to your post , but ive read that youve purchased a house in chacras area and weve also purchased a lot aorund the area, currently building a house. have you heard of jardin lomas de chacras? but as of right now were in maipu living with my in-laws. | ||

Ooooohhh yes the woes of the airline travel - thomas you and I have had many discussions about that! Delta is always a great possibility if you can get on a flight. Small pets are welcome in the cabin and larger can actually get a "reservation" in the cargo area. We paid 50.00 for each cat and 75.00 for each big dog. Also on the horseback riding front - there is a phenomenal place in the pampas I'll have to get the name to post. All their horses are Arabians trained as endurance horses. However you need to be at least an advanced beginner to ride with them. There are also two very good riding schools in Palermo but everything is English or Dressage (my cup of tea either way)!
