Hey Pino, try with Saint, but first check with Roberto, the "Administrator". Better make sure he's in good mood first!- just Kidding By the way, what do you mean by a closed beach?? I´m afraid all our beaches are open!! And when are you coming, because our beaches are fine, but there are far better places to go. Check with the guys at Travel Sur. Hope you enjoy your stay. Hey Pino... welcome! I think he meant a place close to Rio de la Plata (for Buenos Aires city)... Like Anton said, there is someone here who posts often and seems to be the right person to contact. Check for Saint/Apartmentsba.com posts. There is also another member who is involved in the real estate business locally who can help you out. His name is Bob Frassinetti. If none of this helps contact our office at erna@travelsur.net. We have actually helped others in the past that also needed apartments. But I would check with the above *experts* first. You can report here your experiences too. Anton is always available for commenting in case I am not in the mood |

Guess good mood is something that can help us get thru in these difficult times. Pino, the closest beaches are about 400 kms away. You can try with San Bernardo, Mar de Ajo, Pinamar (very pricy but great place) Ostende, Valeria del Mar, Villa Gessell and the "Atlantic Pearl": Mar del Plata. A great combination of urban comforts (hotels, night clubs, a casino, etc) with quite good beaches -tho it is not my bombilla of mate (local infusion with which we "local natives get high"). Got the best of both worlds. And very affordable. Can get there by bus, train and plane. On a more serious note I wish to express my deepest condolocenses to all those innocent people that once again were victims of such a cowardly act. Anton. |

Roberto, I am working with the very efficient Erna for a portion of my upcoming trip. However, I have many points to be able to stay at a hotel nearly cost free. Can you give me your honest opinion of the Park Tower hotel. Is it in a decent area? Easy to get to places of interest? Thanks |

Dear Walt, the Park Tower is the old Sheraton Hotel. It is in a decent area, close to Florida street and many shops and restaurants. Also, close to Puerto Madero. Cabs will get you anywhere within minutes distance. However, the hotel is isolated in its own block, meaning that the building itself is not surrounded by any of this. For the price one has to pay I would chose a more 'cozy' location. The main problem is walking to the hotel or our of it. Some people do not like this and prefer to take a cab even if for 4 or 5 blocks. There are a few wide avenues with lots of traffic that separate the hotel from more commercial areas. But if free, I'll take it. |

I have a Parque Hotel , in Wanda, Misiones. About 30 minutes from the Iguazu Falls. It's a nice place in the middle of a park with citrics an various trees. If you need information about my province please check my profile. (Message edited by admin on April 15, 2006) |

Eunice, try contacting Riyad. He is a member here who lives in Mendoza, offers his place or may know about someone that can help you out. At that price range you should find a GREAT place to rent. I will see if I can find information on volunteering work in Mendoza but not sure where I should begin... |

Roberto. Eunice contacted me but unfortunately she wants to stay in hi season here in Mendoza, and at that rate I will be losing. I have offered her to stay in our winter at that price. I am afraid I dont know of any other house that rents furnished for such a long time. Thanks Riyad |

I agree with you Roberto I think she will be able to find a place in Mendoza for that price. One person, a small house or apartment. Eunice, one question, why do you want to stay in Mendoza. What is it that you are seeking, you do know you can buy Argentine wine anywhere in Argentina. Are you looking for a nice quite getaway, a small town atmosphere, a city experience? Riyad, what accomodtations are you offering that you cannot make money at a thousand a month in Mendoza. What do you include in your pricing, por favor? Throw it out here and lets all talk about it. |

Hi: Thankyou so much for your responses...I have decided upon Mendoza as feel it will be a nice place to be...not crowded, good climate...I have spent many Winters in Mexico and enjoy a small town atmosphere...Mendoza is certainly well written about and it is the info that I read, that makes it so appealable. Any further suggestions re house rentals would certainly be appreciated. |

You made your homework, ojosverdes. I prefer your nick Yes, Riyad's place is more like a Palace and perhaps even inexpensive as it looks so large... See if you can find what you are looking for here. Will look for more information. |
