I am doing a paper on Argentina and I needed some information about adolescent behavior. Some main points I am looking for are: 1. Is adolescence marked with a special event, like a specific party? 2. What are some expectations of them? Move out? Get married? Work? Any help on any of these things would be a great help. Thanks for your time! |

Jennifer, welcome. Quick answers only... 1. Most girls will do a special celebration for their 15th birthday. 2. Jewish boys will do their thing at age 13 but this is probably worldwide. Other than this I have never attended any special party for boys going into adulthood. Most women -generally speaking- are not expecting to move out or with a roommate or going into life on their own as this is very expensive and opportunities are limited. A good number of young men and women are very comfortable with living at their parents house well into their 20's both for economic reasons as well as cultural ones. Expectations of marrying are always present but I think -again, in general- most women are comfortable postponing it and many may choose living together before committing. |
