My fiancee and I are looking to honeymoon in Argentina and are looking to visit the Mendoza region and spend about three nights in Mendoza. Ideally we would like to stay at a Bodega/vineyard, however, I am having a difficult time finding information on the internet on suggested locations. Any recommendations would be helpful. |

Last December my wife and I stayed at exactly the kind of place you are looking for. It is called Club Tapiz. It is located in a vineyard just south of Mendoza. They have about 14 rooms, the grounds are lovely and they have a very good restaurant. While in the area try Ruca Malen vineyard for lunch plus visit Melipal. |

Richard, Thanks for the information, I have them on my list of places to contact. How were the rooms? |

The rooms were very nice - get one facing the pool - and quite comfortable. The service was good, staff helpful, and breakfast/food excellent. They have a wine tasting every evening before dinner. We are returning to Mendoza this coming January and will stay there again. In the US their wine is sold under the name Zolo. As they are located in a semi-rural area we rented a car at the airport to best tour the area. If you rent a car bring your own map. Hertz did not supply one. |

Richard, Sounds great. I will definitely check into it. WIth regard to the car rental--I was trying to avoid renting a car. Do we definitely need to rent a car in order to tour the area? How isolated is the vineyard from other bodegas? |

The bodegas of Mendoza are scattered about, one cannot walk from one to the other. There are bunches of interesting bodegas within 10 km of Club Tapiz and Mendoza itself is within that range. Taxis are readily available and inexpensive; the hotel can arrange transport. I just like the freedom of having my own car. Driving was quite easy |

Michael Alan Shirley, Thank you for the link to ranabtawi; however, the villa looks to be a bit too large for what we are looking for in terms of accommodations. If you have any recommendations with regard to any vineyards/bodegas that provide accommodations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. JJ |

Richard Cooperman, Thanks for your Club Tapiz recommendation. Unfortunately, club tapiz is not available on the dates that I was looking to stay in Mendoza. Do you have any other recommendations regarding a bodega/vineyard that provides accommodations? Thanks again. JJ |
