Florencia, can you tell us about some cool places where to spend time? And how about the lesbian and gay community down there? Hangouts, pubs... ? |

Roberto, as you probably know the gay community is more and more active here. I had one of my gay friends come to visit us in April and he couldn't stop talking about what a great time he had, and of course even the newspapers are beginning to provide coverage about the possibilities for gay travel here. These are two links that would be useful as there are a number of venues for the community that include gay friendly milongas to clubs to restaurants. The second link is the circuito corto map was created by the Buenos Aires tourism. http://www.thegayguide.com.ar/ http://www.circuitoscortos.com.ar/mapagay/home.php hope this helps. I know my friend in Miami has a ton of info now. you should contact him sometime... let me know if you want his email. Laura |

Thank you, both. Florencia, I heard about Mint but the other ones I will have to visit on my next trip... You meant you were 'investing' someone else's money on these businesses? Or that you are in charge of promoting them? If so, that is probably a nice job. Do you see actors often? Do you ever see my friend Diego Peretti? Laura, thank you. I probably have no need (personal, that is) to contact your friend but living here I am aware Miami has a large gay community. Yes, I have read about Buenos Aires being a lesbian/gay friendly destination. Not too much of a surprise. I actually wanted to open up the topic here because in the past a few people from Buenos Aires posted their gay related services but the threads never prospered. This information has to be useful to somebody, no? Anyone wanting to post interesting aspects of Buenos Aires nightlife feel free to drop stories here... We went together to 'Colegio Nacional Buenos Aires'. Yes, close friend at the time. Spent a lot of time together and saw his career taking off. Then, I came to live to the US and only kept in touch during my first years after I left. Little by little we went our own ways. I think we had diner last time 2 years ago but I always hear about him cause we have common friends. Does he still live in Las Canitas? |
