Hi. Does anyone have a recommendation for a "boutique" hotel in Cordoba or if not a good place to stay? Gracias! |

So, Pablo... do you have an answer for her? It appears you are just trying to help yourself. |

ok, well, here's the score. Pablo, I don't think Roberto was trying to be a d*ck. The thing is, he created a forum on the side of his own business, and a lot of other (competitive businesses) come on here to try and push their own services. At the same time, Roberto spends a lot of his own time keepng the forum up and running, but tries to keep it as a helpful tool for people, not an advertising tool. I havent ever seen him send out "adverts" for his firm, just advice - yours came across a little like that, maybe it was read wrongly. If you are just trying to help and advise people, good stuff, keep it coming. If you are trying to sell a tourist service, start up your own forum... we already have "TravelSur", Roberto's company. Cheers |

Hi there Pablo is my friend who lives in Cordoba and I told him about this site so he can give help to anybody that needed it but unfortunately I guess some of you thought he was trying to take advantage of the situation. Although he does have quite a personality ,he just wanted to help. On one hand I understand Robert's point of view because this is his website and he needs to protect private interest, but on the other hand we should not quickly judge others by the way they post messages. Capitalism has taken over the minds of society and sometimes we lose our embracing ways thinking that everybody is trying to "cut" us out of a deal. Maybe next time we can approach things in a civil manner instead of accusing others of trying to profit from others ideas. |

Sorry gentlemen, it is not about money. Neither about business. It is about respect. Not for me, not for my work but for the more than 1000 members that receive alerts on a daily basis. As such, they expect to find solutions *in this site* and it does no good nor it solves anyone's problems to come here and tell the world to go somewhere else if the answer is at hand. What I have been trying to do all along is to create a free resource where others could find answers, independently of my line of business -which is not travel-. What Pablo did, was tell us that he really didn't want to form part of this group and that he could care less about the almost 4 years it has been live. Furthermore, he spent no time trying to tune in or see what this was about. In the past, in similar situations where new members would come and post once about their services I would let go... or politely request their contribution. But if someone registers and all this person can do is post three times its email address just saying that the actual answer will be given privately, then, this looks like an undoing of my efforts. I DO NOT think of this as my forum. Many, many here created it and do so on a daily basis. But I feel an obligation as the gatekeeper. To keep it alive and useful. Pablo tried to take without really giving. Just thinking he was helping. But in the great scheme of things he wasn't. And a final note. Forcing others into certain behaviours is not in tune with this forum. I am of the opinion that if someone has something valuable to offer others will notice it and actively request help... This may not be the best way of promoting one's services but then, I am old fashion. |
