Current passport with or without visa depending on your nationality. (Visa is not required for US citizens) - Consult your nearest Embassy or Consulate. Visitors coming from countries not bordering Argentina are exempt from taxes on travel articles and new articles with a value not more than US $300. Also there is an additional $300 exemption if they are purchased in the duty free shops within Argentina. No vaccination certificate is required for entry into the country, except for passengers coming from countries where cholera and yellow fever are endemic. SEASONS: Remember that in the southern hemisphere the seasons are the opposite to those in the northern hemisphere. In general, summer with mild temperatures and long days is the ideal time to visit Patagonia and the Southern Andes. Winter is recommended for traveling to the North and Northwest as the rains are less frequent and the tropical temperatures drop a few degrees. Obviously winter is also the time to go for skiing if you expect to find snow. Autumn and Spring are marvelous in Buenos Aires, Cuyo and the areas of La Rioja and Catamarca.
